The Hart Museum remains closed. Los Angeles County has approved a plan to transfer the William S. Hart Museum and Park from the County to the City of Santa Clarita.

Formerly the Collections Manager in Mammalogy, Jim Dines oversaw the day-to-day maintenance and use of the NHMLAC's mammal collections for almost twenty years. His interests include the natural history and evolution of terrestrial and marine mammals.
