The Hart Museum remains closed. Los Angeles County has approved a plan to transfer the William S. Hart Museum and Park from the County to the City of Santa Clarita.

Samantha Avitia is a certified CA Naturalist, informal educator, and community organizer. Since 2019, Samantha has worked for The Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County, co-producing L.A. Nature Fest 2019, developing curriculum for the Adventures In Nature summer camp, and writing stories for the Angelenos Building Community series. She grew up in Boyle Heights and feels deeply connected to the land that is now known as Los Angeles. Samantha’s interests range from cultural history, to art, and informal education. She finds passion and a connection to her own cultural history through ceramic art. You can often find her at POT Ceramic Studio making mugs and bowls.
 
Samantha is a graduate of the 2017-2018 Arts for LA, ACTIVATE Cultural Policy Fellowship and the 2020 Nature For All - Leadership Academy. She has a B.A. in History from California State University, Long Beach with a focus on Latin America and is currently working on a MPA in Nonprofit Management from California State University, Northridge.
