Rather than guided tours, on a day such as this, visitors are welcome to explore the museum at their own pace. We will focus on our friends, the bison, offering our guests casual chats, displays, and hands-on activities related to the subject of the day. Learn the history of the bison in North America. Why do we call them bison rather than buffalo? We’ll look at this creature from a natural history perspective, as well as how he appears in some of the art in the house. And of course, see them in person here in Hart Park! There will have staff and volunteers stationed around the house to answer questions, bison related or not, and to talk with you about the Hart. There is always some kind of craft activity for our young guests (and the young-at-heart)!
